Rockin the 50's

Rockin the 50’s in our grease lightning inspired photo shoot was awesome! I was already super pumped on the drive over, we had a beautiful sunny evening ahead of us and our location was my favourite hot dog joint... yes none other than the amazing Rocky’s Hot Dogs, home of the delicious footlong! But wait it gets better... we drive up to the most amazing group of classic cars I have ever seen (special thanks to the owners who were nice enough to bring their beloved vehicles out for our shoot!) and then we see our models. Now in case I don’t say it enough we have the best group of models ever, they are all incredibly beautiful as well as talented and loads of fun! They are all rockin the 50’s looks like it is nobodies business and looking smoking hot! It was an absolutely awesome night! Here are some of my favs, enjoy!

Come Rain or Shine

Time really does fly by doesn’t it... our friends lil girl recently turned 1 and I was absolutely honoured when they asked if I would capture some family photos. After some planning we figured out the perfect time, date and location... perfect except for weather! Now being an Ontario farm girl I will be the first to say it has been extremely dry and we need any rain we can get, but really did it have to fall on the day of our photo shoot! It was one of those days, you know where it rains cats and dogs then clears right up and repeat. I was ready to call our friends a half hour before we were scheduled to meet but turns out it stopped long enough for us to get a small session in. It was so much fun, their lil girl is an absolute doll and we love her soo much! I am very excited to show our friends all the photos but here is a sneak peek. Hope you like them!

beach•chic

Our second summer club assignment had us hitting the beach at the Grand River Conservation Authority. Now being originally from this area, I am somewhat embarrassed to say I have never been to Guelph Lake before… who knew we had such a great beach area in our backyard! It was perfect for our beach photo!  Well almost perfect…
I will be the first to say I love hot & sunny summer days, only problem is we haven’t had much (let’s be honest ANY) rain. Things are really dry and farmers around here are worried about their crops. So it was a big surprise when the dark clouds rolled in as we pulled into the beach area. And wouldn’t you know it started to rain as soon as we got out of the car. Here is where I found myself in a bit of a dilemma. As a farm girl, and knowin how badly our crops at home needed a good rain, I was pretty excited but as a photographer standing under a tree with a 2 ½ hour outdoor beach photo shoot ahead of me in the rain, I was a little less than impressed. Oh the dilemma…

Good news though, Mother Nature must be a photography fan, because after a 15 minute rain she was nice enough to stop the rain and warm the weather up a bit for our lovely models, who were brave enough to wear bathing suits (it did cool down quite a bit there). We ended up having an awesome night shooting, got some great photos and then got a much needed rain during the night.

Big thank you for the rain! Also big thanks to our amazing models, you ladies are absolutely beautiful!

Our next assignment… think Grease Lightning!
