Love & Red Maples

This fall has been absolutely beautiful...making it the perfect backdrop for engagement pics! I am super excited to photograph Ashley and Robb’s wedding next year, but first things first... the engagement photos. These two absolutely rocked the camera! We had a great time traveling around the most beautiful country side, making a couple stops along the way, but we were on a mission... we were on the hunt for a red maple tree! Now you would think that on a beautiful fall day this would be easy... but you would be wrong. We travelled to neighbours, up and down the road and even back into a couple fields with no luck. Almost ready to call it a night we tried one last spot and there it was... a GORGEOUS red tree! So worth the wait...we got some amazing shots with the red leaves in the background. Here is a quick sneak peek, I really hope you like them!

Country Fair

It is a time old tradition for our family to head to the fair Thanksgiving weekend! Having shown cattle in 4H, Rockton fair once hosted my yearly achievement day... memories of early morning truck rides to the fair grounds, chilly mornings in the wash rack, long days in the show ring and all the fair fixings! No longer in 4H, I still make the short hike to Rockton Fair each year to help with beef show. With my trusty camera at side I had a blast capturing some awesome pics this year... check out some of my favourites!

One for the Wall

I met M though a mutual friend and last year had a blast doing some holiday photos of her lil guy for Christmas! So when she called up and asked if I would be up for doing their family photos this fall, I of course jumped at the chance! So I packed up my gear, jumped in my car and headed their way for an awesome afternoon in the park.

The weatherman threatened rain but we totally lucked out and had a beautiful fall day for our photo shoot! With fall colours and leaves all around, we had a great time wandering around the park snapping photos along the way. M, her hubby and lil guy were absolutely awesome and totally rocked the photo shoot!

Thanks a million guys for letting me hang out with you for the afternoon.  Here is a quick sneak peek of some of my fav pics! I cannot wait to show you the rest. Enjoy!

absolutely stunning

So it is sad to say but Summer Photo Club has come to a close. I am not sure where summer or September for that matter went, but time sure does fly when you are having fun. The last photo shoot was at a beautiful home here in town.. think amazing historical home with beautiful architecture, amazing decor and incredible gardens. Now add in our amazing group of models, who rocked some of the most beautiful gowns and looked absolutely breath taking and the most amazing warm light and voila... art J Here are some of my favourites... in case you didn’t notice I was absolute obsessed with the stone house. I grew up in a stone house and fall head over heels every time I see one. So yes I may have used it in a lot of my shots, but I love them!

Sorry for the lack of posts lately... things have been super busy and WE GOT A PUPPY! I know super exciting! We have been talking about getting a puppy for what seems like forever and we now finally have a loving, four legged fur ball to call our own.  His name is Barley and he is chocolate lab... he loves to snuggle, play with toys and is a big peanut butter fan!!!! He has stolen our hearts and we absolutely love him. Here are some photos of our newest addition to our lil family.

Rockin the 50's

Rockin the 50’s in our grease lightning inspired photo shoot was awesome! I was already super pumped on the drive over, we had a beautiful sunny evening ahead of us and our location was my favourite hot dog joint... yes none other than the amazing Rocky’s Hot Dogs, home of the delicious footlong! But wait it gets better... we drive up to the most amazing group of classic cars I have ever seen (special thanks to the owners who were nice enough to bring their beloved vehicles out for our shoot!) and then we see our models. Now in case I don’t say it enough we have the best group of models ever, they are all incredibly beautiful as well as talented and loads of fun! They are all rockin the 50’s looks like it is nobodies business and looking smoking hot! It was an absolutely awesome night! Here are some of my favs, enjoy!

Come Rain or Shine

Time really does fly by doesn’t it... our friends lil girl recently turned 1 and I was absolutely honoured when they asked if I would capture some family photos. After some planning we figured out the perfect time, date and location... perfect except for weather! Now being an Ontario farm girl I will be the first to say it has been extremely dry and we need any rain we can get, but really did it have to fall on the day of our photo shoot! It was one of those days, you know where it rains cats and dogs then clears right up and repeat. I was ready to call our friends a half hour before we were scheduled to meet but turns out it stopped long enough for us to get a small session in. It was so much fun, their lil girl is an absolute doll and we love her soo much! I am very excited to show our friends all the photos but here is a sneak peek. Hope you like them!

beach•chic

Our second summer club assignment had us hitting the beach at the Grand River Conservation Authority. Now being originally from this area, I am somewhat embarrassed to say I have never been to Guelph Lake before… who knew we had such a great beach area in our backyard! It was perfect for our beach photo!  Well almost perfect…
I will be the first to say I love hot & sunny summer days, only problem is we haven’t had much (let’s be honest ANY) rain. Things are really dry and farmers around here are worried about their crops. So it was a big surprise when the dark clouds rolled in as we pulled into the beach area. And wouldn’t you know it started to rain as soon as we got out of the car. Here is where I found myself in a bit of a dilemma. As a farm girl, and knowin how badly our crops at home needed a good rain, I was pretty excited but as a photographer standing under a tree with a 2 ½ hour outdoor beach photo shoot ahead of me in the rain, I was a little less than impressed. Oh the dilemma…

Good news though, Mother Nature must be a photography fan, because after a 15 minute rain she was nice enough to stop the rain and warm the weather up a bit for our lovely models, who were brave enough to wear bathing suits (it did cool down quite a bit there). We ended up having an awesome night shooting, got some great photos and then got a much needed rain during the night.

Big thank you for the rain! Also big thanks to our amazing models, you ladies are absolutely beautiful!

Our next assignment… think Grease Lightning!
